Kuakata is a scenic tourist destination. The most beautiful beach in the world can be seen sunrise and sunset from Kuakata. Kuakata is located in Latachapali union of kalapara police station in the southernmost part of Bangladesh. Gajmati reserve forest on the east, Kuakata forest on the west, kalapara district on the north and huge Bay of Bengal on the south. Kuakata beach is about 18 km long and about 3 km wide. The most beautiful beach in the world Kuakata is known to tourists as the "Daughter of the Sea". It is known about the naming of Kuakata that when the Burmese king occupied Arakan, the homeland of the Rakhine, in 1784, thousands of Rakhines left their homeland Arakan. They landed at Rangabali Island on the shores of the Bay of Bengal and settled there. They used to collect pure water by digging wells in the sand as the salt water of the sea was unfit for human consumption. They named it Kuakata after digging a well and getting fresh water here. The most beautiful beach in the world Next to the beach is a huge coconut grove and the Gangamati reserve forest. At the western end there is a large area of protected forest. The waters of the sea to the south. In winter, a temporary fishing ground and dried fish factory are set up east of the beach. There are many teak gardens and picnic spots here. Alipore is the largest fishing port in the region. In winter, different species of guest birds arrive. There are many archeological sites and tribal settlements such as Keranipara, Mistripara, Seema Buddhist Temple and Amkholapara which attract tourists. Kuakata offers real ideas about Rakhine culture and traditions. The most beautiful beach in the world Kuakata is a place of pilgrimage for Hindus and Buddhists. They organize various religious ceremonies including Ras Purnima and Maghi Purnima, bathing at the holy beach of Kuakata.

Its distance by road from Dhaka is 380 km and from Barisal 108 km. Kuakata is located 70 km south of patuakhali sadar. It takes 12/13 hours to go to Kuakata bus from Dhaka.
